Our Vision Framework
THE MISSION // what we do
Making disciples of JESUS neighborhood by neighborhood.
THE VISION // where we are going
Joining GOD as HE makes all things new.
THE VALUES // what guides us
Renewal - We experience GOD’s restorative power flowing into and mending the broken and hurting places, and we join the stream of this grand renewal project by making known the all-encompassing love of JESUS in our neighborhoods & city.
Honor - We affirm that every single person has immeasurable value because they are made in the image of GOD. Yet we live in a world where so many have their inherent dignity questioned & marred, often as the result of systemic injustices. In response, we will be a community of hope and action seeking friendship and unity as we become reconciles and advocates until all people in Chicago flourish.
Freedom - We are liberated through the person and work of JESUS to unceasingly experience the SPIRIT’s transformative power and presence, and as a distinct people marked by this freedom, we delight to behold and encounter the face of GOD as the Kingdom breaks in among us.
Bob and his wife, Erin began their story in Chicago in 2008. They moved to Norwood Park to help lead a church and quickly formed a deep love for the far northwest side and all Chicago. God has blessed Bob & Erin with three beautiful children: Harper, Lee, and Moses. With two of their children born in Chicago, they have made the neighborhood of Edison Park as their “home town” and look forward to laying down roots and raising their family here in Chicago.
Bob’s passionate leadership is rooted in sharing the Gospel, caring deeply for people, and seeking best practices to reach people far from God. The call to start a new church has been growing in Bob and Erin for the better part of a decade, and they have been allowing God to train and equip them as they trusted Him each step of the way. They believe now is the time God has for them to plant Missio Dei Edison Park.
Only 7% of people in Chicago identify as followers of Jesus. With a huge love for the city, Bob and Erin are eager to plant this gospel work, and see more of the great people of Chicago come to trust Jesus.
Kat is a dangerously outspoken, bluntly honest, fearlessly loving follower of Jesus with a heart for helping creativity thrive in the local church. After studying worship arts and media communication in college, Kat jumped head first into ministry and has worked in local churches since May 2016.
Kat moved to Chicago from Northwest Florida in February 2019 to be a part of Missio Dei Chicago and help plant a church in Edison Park. Her past experience as a worship leader and media producer and her Midwestern origins have uniquely prepared her for this time in Chicago working with Missio Dei Edison Park.
