City & Global Engagement


Missio Dei Chicago is a church family that not only gathers on Sundays, in homes, and in our neighborhoods. We also actively seek to step into areas of injustice and need throughout our city and world. Below is a brief list of where our congregations are involved. This isn't an exhaustive list. World Relief
Good Neighbor Teams who befriend refugees when they land in the states and help them with what they need for the next four months

Safe Families
Help a family by hosting a child at risk or be a support and friend of other's who host.

Chicago Public Schools
Volunteering and mentoring in Chicago Public Schools - take your talent and skills and get connected to a sport or club at Amundsen or mentor/tutor elementary kids for 1 hour.

Young Lives
Invest in and mentor a teen mom.

Pub theology
We've lost the art of listening to those who disagree with us. Come and engage in a civil discussion on a hot topic of our time and engage with people from all walks of life.

Open House
A weekly time of building relationships through eating pizza and playing games with our neighbors. All are welcome, it’s a party every week!

Alden Lakeland
A ministry focused on loving the people that live and work at Alden Lakeland Rehabilitation Center. Weekly Gospel Community, You are Loved events, and holiday parties that seek to point people toward Jesus and remind them that they are valued and loved.

Heiwa Terrace
A monthly Birthday and BINGO event at Heiwa Terrace, an Asian american assisted living home in Uptown. Seeks to build relationships with our neighbors by playing BINGO and celebrating residents birthdays. 

Salvation Army
Monthly birthdays parties for children living at the Salvation Army. This ministry seeks to create a safe, fun, and loving environment for the kids to celebrate one another!

RISE McCutcheon Elementary Mentorship Program
A mentoring initiative with our local school that seeks to provide elementary and middle school students an additional positive and encouraging adult relationship in their lives
