Jesus has already established himself during this series as the Good Shepherd one whose sheep know His voice. Jesus begins to establish himself as the very door to the sheep pen. This is the facet of His character as the way into the kingdom of heaven. He has given us a glimpse of heaven as the very threshold to the presence of God. We enter on His sacrifice through His love for us.
