MD Kids

Missio Dei Lincoln Square

What we are doing on Sunday mornings is not babysitting. It's ministry. We are on a mission to see the lives of children and families transformed by the Gospel. What we do in MD Kids builds upon our mission as a church to see disciples of JESUS made neighborhood by neighborhood and upon the Great Commission when JESUS said “Go and make disciples of all nations.”

It all starts with the Gospel- with the good news of JESUS. Then we equip our leaders to teach and lead in their unique roles within the ministry. Simultaneously, we equip the parents to thrive in their role as the spiritual leaders of their children. And then we begin to see families transformed and then living on mission together. And what they are doing in their homes and what they believe in their hearts begins to trickle out and seep into the lives of others in their neighborhood. And then a neighborhood is transformed. And one by one we begin to see a city that is transformed by the Gospel.

This moves us past just what happens on Sunday mornings. The implications of this are far-reaching because it takes what we do within the four walls of our rooms on Sunday mornings and moves it out- into homes, into neighborhoods, into our city, and into the world.

Family Vision

We are passionate about partnering with families to raise kids who follow Jesus in our city. Our kid's ministry, MD Kids, is offered at our Sunday gatherings and provides a full program for infants, toddlers, pre-school and elementary school aged children.

We believe children are valuable people to the church family. They teach us lessons everyday about the freedom we have in Christ to be unhindered to trust God and bring joy to others. We believe the words of Jesus, who said: "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." -Luke 18:16-17.

During the gathering, the children participate in an age-appropriate Biblical lesson, crafts and activities, a snack time (allergies are considered) and a time to play with other children. To best serve the children and parents all teachers and leaders undergo a detailed application process including a personal background check, ongoing training and monitored policies and procedures. No individual other than parents (while dropping off, picking up or attending to their children) and approved MD Kids workers are permitted in the classrooms.

Our Curriculum

We use the Gospel Project for Kids which immerses kids and preschoolers in the gospel through every story, principle from Genesis to Revelation. Through this curriculum, our kids will understand the Bible is not just a collection of stories but one unified story of God’s redemption.
